Cannabis Agritech Corporation is set to launch a Colorado-based accelerator called Skywalker, which will aim to help cannabis startups successfully establish and grow their companies by providing funding and mentorship.
Skywalker will invest $18,000 in seed funding, and will work with cannabis-oriented companies, but will avoid businesses such as recreational or medicinal dispensaries, or cannabis growing operations, which are legal at state level but illegal nationally. Cannabis was legalised in Colorado in 2013.
Zev Jankovic, CEO of Skywalker Accelerator, said: “We are excited to launch the first ever cannabis startup accelerator in the world, blending the entrepreneurial spirit with the passion for cannabis innovation.”
