Aver Informatics, the US-based developer of a data management platform for healthcare reimbursement, has raised $8.5m in a series A round led by GE Ventures, the corporate venturing unit for General Electric, and venture capital firm Drive Capital.
Founded in Wisconsin in 2010, Aver’s platform aims to simplify private healthcare provision by analysing considerable amounts of ‘fee for service’ data in healthcare claims systems and packaging care services into bundles that make the payment process more straightforward.
The company previously raised about $2.5m across multiple angel rounds, and its investors also include health and wellness innovation platform Startup Health and angel investment group Wisconsin Investment Partners.
“Healthcare innovation isn’t just about advances in scientific processes and devices,” said Jason Sibley, director of GE Ventures Healthcare. “We are always seeking to partner with companies that provide practical solutions that drive down the costs for all of us to be healthy.”
Aver will invest the funds in accelerating growth and hiring additional staff for its engineering and sales teams.
