Brazilian financial services firm BRB Banco de Brasília has formed a corporate venture capital fund called BRB Venture Capital Fundo de Investimento em Participações – Capital Semente. The initiative is being co-run by VC firms Bossanova Investimentos and KPTL and it has an initial size of R$50m ($9.6m). It is targeting early-stage companies developing education and training services.
India-based online automotive classifieds platform CarTrade Tech has formed a CVC arm called CarTrade Ventures. The corporate has set aside Rs 7.5bn ($90.4m) for strategic acquisitions and investments in the automotive sector over the next five to seven years.

Ecommerce group Amazon’s Smbhav Venture Fund led a $104m series D round for India-based fresh fish and meat delivery service FreshToHome. Iron Pillar, Investcorp, Investment Corporation of Dubai, Ascent Capital, E20 Investment, Mount Judi Ventures and Dallah Albaraka filled out the participants in the round.
