US-based Venture Capital firm Bessemer Venture Partner, which focuses on early-stage companies, has appointed Sunil James, who joins from Google where he led product management for Google Cloud Platform’s networking division, as vice president.
Previously James was product managed at Amazon Web Services (AWS), defining requirements and go-to-market strategy for Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC), Amazon VM Import, and AWS Direct Connect.
Amit Karp, who joined BVP in 2012, has also been promoted to vice president. Prior to this, Karp was a a senior associate at McKinsey & Co
Both VP’s will work with Bessemer’s investing partners to identify entrepreneurial opportunities in mobile, cloud, security and infrastructure roadmaps.
Bessemer has invested in LnkedIn, Yelp and Pinterest. This month they invested in a $25m series C round for cloud storage services platform CTERA Networks, which also saw involvement from Cisco.
