Japan-based financial services company Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) has hired Jeff Lipton as managing director of corporate advisory in the investment banking and markets group in New York.
In this role, Upton will manage the general industries coverage effort at the bank, which recently revealed plans to concentrate its venture capital activities more towards US startups.
Managing director and head of corporate advisory at MUFG, Robert Smock, said of the appointment: “Jeff’s experience makes him a great addition to our team. He has worked across many different industry sectors and he will help provide the best service to our clients.”
Before MUFG, Lipton was managing director at Teneo Capital. Prior to this he founded and ran cleantech activities at investment bank Jefferies. Lipton also spent time at Morgan and Stanley and Schroder’s & Co.
