Canada-based menswear brand Frank & Oak secured $15m in series B funding on Thursday from investors including Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI), a corporate venturing subsidiary of media company Bertelsmann.
The round was led by Goodwater Capital, and also included Greenoaks Capital, Investment Quebec, Rho Canada Ventures, Real Ventures, Version One Ventures, Lightbank and Lululemon CEO John Currie.
Frank & Oak produces clothing it is targeting at the ‘creative class’ and is using immersive online and in-store marketing to sell its products. It plans to now open a new office in New York and invest in new product ranges and cross-channel technologies.
BDMI was also one of the investors in Frank & Oak’s $5m series A round in 2012, together with Rho, Real Ventures, Version One and Lightbank.
