Kateeva, a US-based manufacturer of flat panel OLED displays, has raised $38m in a series D round featuring Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC), the corporate venturing unit of electronics conglomerate Samsung.
Veeco Instruments, a producer of LED and eletronics manufacturing equipment, also took part in the round, as did venture capital firms Sigma Partners, Spark Capital, Madrone Capital Partners, DBL Investors and New Science Ventures.
Kateeva produces bright and thin OLED displays, and will use the funds to support its manufacturing strategy.
The company stated that the latest round has increased its total funding to $110m since it was founded in 2008.
Kateeva chief executive Alain Harrus said: “SVIC’s investment speaks volumes of our technology’s enabling value to world-class OLED producers. It will reinforce our leading position and help serve all our customers better.”
