Allure Media, a subsidiary of Australia-based broadcaster Fairfax, has invested A$6m (US$5.4m) in Bellabox, a Singapore-based beauty and cosmetics retailer that allows customers to try products before they buy them.
Approximately half the funding will be invested in the business with the rest to go to outgoing shareholders, according to Tech in Asia. Bellabox raised US$1.4m in January 2013 from Square Peg Capital, Apex Capital Partners, Monash Private Capital and Lance Kalish.
Bellabox will spend the money on expanding further onto the Asia Pacific region and boosting its technology base in order to grow its e-commerce platform.
