Gainsight to benefit from $25m series C

US-based sales software producer Gainsight, which is backed by the corporate venturing unit of cloud computing company Salesforce.com, raised $25m in series C funding on Friday.

The investment came from venture capital firms Bessemer Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Gainsight develops software that uses predictive analytics to enhance companies’ customer service, sales and marketing activity. The new capital will be allocated towards research and development.

Nick Mehta, chief executive at Gainsight, said: “With Bessemer and Lightspeed joining our movement, we now have the validation of the most successful cloud investment teams in the world to establish Gainsight as the definitive technology leader for the customer success industry.”

Gainsight has raised about $54m in total, including $20m from a November 2013 series B round backed by Salesforce Ventures, Summit Partners, Bain Capital Ventures and Battery Ventures.
