US-based semiconductor manufacturer Cavendish Kinetics closed a $7m series C round on Tuesday that featured Qualcomm Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of technology equipment maker Qualcomm.
The round was co-led by venture capital firms Tallwood Venture Capital and Wellington Partners.
Cavendish provides high-performance radio frequency (RF) tuning solutions for mobile devices. The funding will be used to support Cavendish’s product line, following the company’s first commercial product launch earlier this year.
Cavendish secured $10m in series B funding in 2011 from Qualcomm Ventures, Tallwood and Wellington Partners, adding to a $15.5m round raised in 2006 from Tallwood, Welllington, Celtic House Venture Partners, Clarium Holdings, Torteval Investments and an unnamed private investor.
