Japanese electronics component manufacturer TDK has promoted Marc Bouchet to senior investment associate for its corporate venture capital arm, TDK Ventures.
TDK Ventures hired Bouchet in 2021 as an analyst before naming him an associate nine months later. He invests in deeptech startups, especially those working on low or zero-carbon energy production and industrial growth.
Bouchet sits on the board of grid infrastructure developer Amperesand, which received funding from TDK Ventures in February this year.
Sodium-ion-based energy storage system provider Peak Energy, green hydrogen producer Verdagy and Mekonos, which is developing synthetic biology medicines, are among the deals Bouchet helped TDK Ventures lead.
Previously, Bouchet spent nearly three years at venture capital firm Plug and Play Tech Center where he concentrated on mobility, industrial, aerospace and enterprise SaaS sectors.
