Hopscotch, an India-based e-commerce company focusing on babycare and children’s products, has raised $11m in a series B round including internet holding company Jabbar Internet Group, according to the Economic Times.
The round was co-led by Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of social media network Facebook, and Velos Partners, a growth capital firm which has appointed Saverin the chairman of its advisory board.
Rise Capital, Lion Rock Capital and Tovio Annus, co-founder of audio and video messaging service Skype, also participated.
Hopscotch previously raised $2m in series A funding from Lion Rock and assorted angel investors in May 2014. It has reportedly raised about $15m in total, including a seed round supplied by friends and family.
Hopscotch sources products from more than 1,000 vendors across India and international territories, marketing babycare and children products with flash sales on its website. The round was closed just prior to a $100m round for China-based competitor Beibei.
