KPMG reveals investment slate

KPMG Capital, the investment subsidiary of Netherlands-based professional services firm KPMG, has revealed investments in three data and analytics technology startups and projects.

The unit paid an undisclosed amount for a majority stake in UK-based data mining and predictive modelling technology provider Software Development and Research Technology, in order to boost the predictive financial analytics tools available to its clients.

KPMG Capital also invested undisclosed amounts in two internally developed intitiaves: Astrus, KPMG’s internal due diligence and monitoring portal, and customer experience management platform Customer Compass.

The investments follow KPMG Capital leading a $13.4m series B round for US-based big data analytics technology provider Bottlenose in February this year. The round also included Origin Ventures, Lerer Ventures, Transmedia Capital, FF Venture Capital and other, undisclosed investors.
