US-based CloudVelox, which provides hybrid cloud disaster recovery and migration services, has raised $15m in a series C round backed by networking equipment company Cisco’s corporate venturing unit Cisco Investments.
Mayfield Fund, Pelion Venture Partners and Third Point Ventures also participated.
CloudVelox was known as CloudVelocity until June 2014. It received $13m in an oversubscribed 2013 series B round led by Third Point and featuring Pelion and Mayfield. In 2012, it closed a $5m series A round from Mayfield.
The company’s technology enables businesses to turn the cloud into a secondary data centre that can keep applications running in the event of a local outage.
