Rob Rosenberg, previously a partner at corporate spin-out specialist New Venture Partners, has joined mobile phone eye diagnostics company EyeNetra where he will run business and corporate development.
Rosenberg was a director of telecommunications equipment maker Lucent Technologies’ New Venture Group before in 2002 co-founding New Venture Partners, an independent venture firm that assisted corporates with spinning out startups from their technology, and staying for 11 years.
After leaving New Venture Partners, Rosenberg took up a position at lifestyle consumer product and real estate holdings company Fast Forward Ventures in 2013. He is also the founding investor and CEO of nutrition app developer Shopwell, which was acquired in 2013.
Founded in 2011, EyeNetra is developing technology based on research conducted in MIT’s Media Lab that enables eye tests to be implemented using a smartphone. It has raised $7m in funding from backers including Khosla Ventures and Khosla Impact.
