Lucid, a US-based developer of integrated building management software, raised $14.2m on Thursday in a series B round featuring industrial products maker General Electric and software producer Autodesk.
Autodesk and General Electric, which invested through its GE Ventures unit, were joined in the round by venture capital firms Formation 8 and Zetta Venture Partners.
Lucid is the creator of BuildingOS, cloud-based software which brings together more than 160 hardware and software building technologies within one collaborative interface. It plans to use the newly raised funds to accelerate the key platform capabilities of its technology.
Lucid raised $1.5m in series A funding in a 2010 round led by Dry Creek Ventures, a VC firm focusing on mentoring young innovators in clean energy, and secured $150,000 in debt in 2009.
Ben Sampson, associate at GE Ventures, Energy said, “At GE Ventures, we see a huge opportunity in enabling a more responsive built environment and are existed to help Lucid lead in this area.”
