Advertising technology provider News Distribution Network (NDN) has acquired Reverb Technologies, the US-based developer of an app that tracks trending news, giving an exit to digital media services provider Manatt.
Founded in 2008 as Allphabeticall, Reverb provided a word-based data service for advertising publishers that tracks what people read, watch or buy online.
The company, which changed its name to Wordnik before settling on Reverb, had raised $13.8m in venture funding, according to regulatory filings, from investors including Manatt, venture capital firm Baseline Ventures and McNamee Trust.
NDN plans to use Reverb’s personalisation, recommendation and mobile technology to enhance its Digital Media Exchange offering, and is also set to open an office in Reverb’s former headquarters in Palo Alto. Neither company disclosed the financial terms of the deal.
