Xingkong, a China-based provider of piano lessons, has secured $20m for a series C round featuring Bluerun Ventures, mobile phone manufacturer Nokia’s former corporate venturing arm, China Money Network reported earlier today.
The round was led by venture capital firm Vision Knight Capital and also featured VC firm Shunwei Capital.
Established in 2012, Xingkong operates some 40 centres across China to teach children how to play the piano. Students can also book teachers for home lessons.
In 2014, Bluerun provided an undisclosed amount for a series B round. Shunwei Capital previously invested an undisclosed series A round in 2013.
Bluerun Ventures was spun out of Nokia in 2005 as a stand-alone venture capital firm.
