China-based, corporate-backed cloud computing infrastructure provider Chinac.com has received $100 in series C funding from securities firm Haitong Securities, China Money Network reported today, citing local media reports.
Chinac operates 20 data centres in China encompassing almost 10,000 physical server clusters. It plans to also launch a RMB 1bn ($161m) cloud computing investment fund with Haitong following the latter’s investment.
Intel Capital, the corporate venturing arm of semiconductor technology manufacturer Intel, provided an undisclosed amount of funding for Chinac in February 2014.
Intel’s investment made up part of a series B round also featuring SIG China, a subsidiary of technology and trading company Susquehanna International Group, according to China Money Network.
Chinac, which was founded in 2010, had also raised an undisclosed amount of series A capital from investment firm Yongjin, China Money Network stated.
