Bauer Venture Partners, the corporate venturing unit of media company Bauer Media, has provided $15m in series B fundng for US-based recipe discovery platform Yummly.
Yummly operates an online platform that enables users to search for recipes based on ingredients, type or taste. The company will use the series B capital to hire more staff, expand its product offering and continue developing its technology.
Yummly closed a $6m series A round in 2012 co-led by Unilever Corporate Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of consumer goods conglomerate Unilever, and Physic Ventures, a venture capital firm backed by Unilever and beverages producer PepsiCo.
Intel Capital, the investment arm of chip maker Intel, publishing firm The Harvard Common Press, VC firm Harrison Metal Capital and assorted angel investors also contributed to the series A round.
Intel Capital, Harrison Metal, First Round Capital and undisclosed angel investors had already provided $1.8m in seed funding for Yummly in 2010.
