Reply answers three startups with funding

Breed Reply, a UK-based internet of things incubator launched by digital services provider Reply, has selected three startups for its third cohort and committed a total of £2.38 ($3.6m) in investment.

The chosen companies are smart buildings technology provider EnModus, sports technology developer Gymcraft and wellness technology producer Inova Design. Breed had received more than 150 applications for the third run of the programme.

Reply will take a stake of up to 30% in the startups, though further details concerning individual agreements have not been revealed.

EnModus’ Wattwave technology allows users to monitor and control any mains powered device. The company previously raised $2.3m in seed funding from Andromeda Capital Partners and Finance Wales in February 2014.

Gymcraft has developed virtual reality fitness games that can be played while using traditional gym gear, while Inova Design monitors a range of physiological data through a small device in the ear to prevent diseases. The incubator begins today and is due to finish on November 16.
