Mirics, a UK-based software company for television receivers on mobile devices, has raised $13m in its series C funding. Return backers include UK-based venture capital firms Acacia Capital Partners and Pond Ventures, and Intel Capital, the corporate venturing division of US-listed semiconductor maker Intel.
Marcos Battisti, head of western Europe and Israel at Intel Capital, said: "This new funding will enable Mirics to continue building its commercial growth and maintain its leadership position in software-based global broadcast receivers."
Mirics added $7m from the three investors in January as an extension of its $12m series B round closed in August 2007. Pond had originally provided the series A round in April 2005 after Mirics’ launch in 2004.
