Healthcare data analytics company Yidu Cloud Technology has led a series B round for China-based diabetes management platform Weitang sized in the eight-figure dollar range, Technode reported today.
Founded in 2013 as Boyibang, Weitang has built a diabetes management app that helps users create a diabetes-based medical record by tracking blood sugar levels, food intake, exercise and medication. Physicians can then use data sourced from the app to provide customised care plans.
Yidu Cloud supplies data analytics technology to assist care providers. Technode has not stated whether the round, which Weitang CEO Feng Yanfei claims is the largest ever to be raised by a diabetes management platform, will precede a strategic collaboration between the companies.
Boyibang previously raised about $730,000 in funding from venture capital firm Ameba Capital and Wu Jiong, executive director of medical services provider Guahao, in 2013.
