ThirdLove raises $8m in second funding round

US-based lingerie brand ThirdLove has secured $8m in series A funding, building on seed capital from investors including Novel TMT Ventures, the corporate venturing division of telecommunications company Novel Group.

The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), with participation from angel investors including Laurie Ann Goldman and Lori Greeley, respectively the former CEOs of Spanx and Victoria’s Secret Stores; Barry Sternlicht, founder of Starwood Hotels; and Claire Bennett, executive vice president at American Express.

ThirdLove offers bras in half-cup sizes and uses a smartphone-based app to allow customers to self-measure at home ahead of placing their orders.

The company raised $5.6m of seed capital in a 2013 round, also led by NEA with backing from Novel TMT Ventures and a long list of angel investors.

ThirdLove intends to use the latest funding to build its team in San Francisco, launch new products and expand its retail presence.
