RevUp raises more than $5m in seed campaign

RevUp Software, a US-based developer of data analytics technology for fundraisers, has raised “over $5m” in seed funding from investors including enterprise software provider Salesforce.com and marketing firm WPP.

WPP and Salesforce, which took part through its Salesforce Ventures unit, were joined by Greylock Partners, Omidyar Network, Valley Fund, RPM Ventures, Jumpstart Ventures, Base Ventures and angel investors including Sean Parker and Drew Perkins.

RevUp is developing a software tool that helps non-profits, academic institutions and political organisations more effectively fundraise by utilising data analytics and social media.

The startup plans to use the seed funding to expand its engineering, data analysis and sales teams as it looks to use the experience it has gained with political clients to move more heavily into academic and non-profit spaces.
