DeCarta, a maker of geospatial software formerly known as Telcontar, has raised $6.2m of an expected $10.2m series D round from six investors, according to a regulatory filing first seen by news provider VentureBeat.
In 2008, deCarta raised $35m in its series C round, according to news providers, although the company’s website said it had received $20m.
T-Mobile Venture Fund, a corporate venturing vehicle of Germany-based phone operator Deutsche Telekom provided $6m in the C round, which included Best Buy Capital as one of two other strategic investors and venture capital firms Hotung Group, TransLink Capital and repeat investor Norwest Venture Partners. From its website, Cardinal Venture Capital and Mobius Venture Capitalare also among its investors.
News provider VentureWire said deCarta, under its former name of Telcontar raised $11m in 2005 and $6.6m in 2004, a year after its merger with Televoke.
