Hon Hai Precision Industry, the holding company for contract manufacturer Foxconn, has participated in a $30m seed round for China-based intelligent robotics technology startup CloudMinds, China Money Network reported today.
Venture capital and private equity firm SB China Capital, VC firm Walden International and Kaixuan Capital also contributed to the round.
Founded in 2015, Cloudminds is developing connected intelligent robots that can be controlled using cloud computing and blockchain technology. Using the cloud enables more memory and artificial intelligence to be stored and utilised by the robot.
Cloudminds intends to build a full-service housekeeping robot capable of serving individual families by 2025, but for now is focusing on a secured mobile office product, according to China Money Network.
