China-based online media company Juzi Entertainment has secured $10m in series B funding from investors including internet security company Qihoo 360 Technology, China Money Network reported today.
The round was led by venture capital firm China Growth Capital, and follows an initial $15m of series B funding secured in January this year. The January round was backed by Ventech China, ZhenFund and Matrix Partners.
Founded in 2014, Juzi Entertainment operates a website and mobile app called Happy Juzi that is targeted at 15 to 25-year-olds, offering news on topics such as fashion, movies and celebrity gossip. The company claims its app has 20 million registered users.
Juzi had previously received RMB50m ($7.5m) in combined angel and series A funding, according to its website. It is not related to Austria-based Juzi Entertainment, a consultancy aimed at folk musicians in the country.
