Mel Gaceta (pictured from LinkedIn) last month joined US-based consumer finance company Synchrony Financial as managing director for strategic investments.
Gaceta previously spent nearly three years sourcing strategic investments and business development at US Cellular, having earlier worked for nine years at corporate venturing unit Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. His board observer role at Kiip on behalf of US Cellular has been taken on by Joe Settimi.
Separately, Jennifer Perron-Micek, senior director of products and innovation at US Cellular, has moved to be senior director of marketing pricing, customer acquisition and retention at the company.
Synchrony was US-listed industrial conglomerate GE’s 80-year-old business before they separated and it was taken public mid-2014.
