Bose goes from Cisco to new horizons

Joydeep Bose, managing director of Cisco APJ, the Japan and Asia Pacific branch of US-headquartered networking equipment producer Cisco has left the company, The New Indian Express reported today.

Bose oversaw corporate business development for Cisco in the Asia Pacific Japan region, including the local venture capital deals by corporate venturing unit Cisco Investments, and mergers and acquisitions.

Cisco hired Bose in 2007 after seven years at Intel Capital, the corporate venturing arm of semiconductor technology producer Intel, where he served as managing director.

Companies in the region to have received funding from Cisco during Bose’s stint include Netmagic Solutions, Mobikwik, Comviva and Ineda Systems. It also bought India-based information security software provider Pawaa in October 2015.

Bose has not revealed details of his future plans but he did take an advisory board seat at a newly formed India-based startup accelerator called Neoleap earlier this month.
