GMobi finds MassiveImpact in acquisition deal

Internet services company General Mobile Corporation (GMobi) has acquired MassiveImpact, an Israel-based mobile advertising platform backed by telecom companies SoftBank and Singapore Telecommunications, for an undisclosed sum.

MassiveImpact operated an end-to-end performance-focused mobile advertising platform that uses advertising conversion metrics to target users. It reportedly reached more than one billion users across 190 countries.

The company’s technology will complement GMobi’s mobile technology services, and will allow it to offer customers an advertising platform that spans web, mobile and social channels.

Paul Wu, GMobi’s founder and chief executive, said: “We are excited to revolutionise how brands connect with consumers. Combined, GMobi and MassiveImpact’s technologies will transform mobile advertising experiences.”

MassiveImpact has not disclosed specific funding details but has revealed its investors included SoftBank’s Bodhi Fund, SingTel Innov8, the corporate venturing arm of Singapore Telecommunications, and Gemini Mobile Technologies, the cloud software provider now known as Cloudian.
