Soft Switching eases into round closure

Soft Switching Technologies, a US-based technology provider, has reportedly closed its latest round of funding.

News provider TechFinance said the round had closed, although a regulatory filing last month said Soft Switching had raised $3m of a $4.5m round.

SoftSwitching’s disclosed investors include utilties Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and DTE Energy’s corporate venturing units and venture capital firms Perseus Capital, Endeavor Capital Management, El Dorado Ventures, Venture Investors and Advantage Capital Partners. US industrial conglomerate General Electric, VC Exelon Capital Partners and investment bank JP Morgan had previously backed SoftSwitching in its 2002 fundraising.

However, a deal source said the two strategic investors, OPG Ventures and DTE Energy Ventures, were unlikely to be part of the latest round.
