MomentFeed, a US-based marketing platform backed by digital marketing consultancy Rockfish, has raised $16.3m in funding led by Level Equity.
The round also included Signia Venture Partners, Draper Nexus and DFJ Frontier.
Founded in 2010, MomentFeed has developed software that enables businesses to engage with consumers with consumers on a local level down to the neighbourhood or store.
The cash will let MomentFeed hire additional software engineers and sales executives, and develop products, features and services that are being requested by its clients. MomentFeed also aims to extend its network of advertising, marketing, search engine optimisation and social media agency partners.
The company previously raised $2.74m in 2015, according to a securities filing, following a $5.5m series A round in December 2013 led by Signia Venture Partners with participation from Draper Nexus, DFJ Frontier, Double M Partners and Daher Capital.
Gold Hill Capital, DFJ Frontier, DFJ JAIC, Double M Capital, Daher Capital and assorted angel investors previously supplied $1.8m in seed funding in February 2013, adding to an earlier investment of undisclosed size in September 2011 from Rockfish’s corporate venturing arm Rockfish Ventures.
MI Ventures, DFJ JAIC, FDJ Frontier and angel investors had also supplied $1.2m in cash two months earlier.
