InterCloud connects to corporates for series B

France-based cloud delivery platform provider InterCloud has raised €10m ($10.6m) in a series B round backed by France’s public investment bank Bpifrance, Les Echos reported yesterday.

SNCF Digital Ventures, the €30m investment vehicle managed by rail operator SNCF and investment firm Hi Inov, also participated, as did CapHorn Invest and Ventech.

Founded in 2010, InterCloud operates an enterprise-grade cloud delivery network, which combines technology at strategic interchange points between internet service providers (ISPs) with transfer capacity rented from the ISPs.

Clients can then control which cables and ISPs their data passes through in order to guarantee maximum security, flexibility and compliance.

The money will go towards continued expansion activities across Europe, building on InterCloud’s entry into Spain at the end of last year. The company is currently targeting Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium and the UK as its next markets.

IT services company Riverbed Technology had invested in InterCloud’s $5m series A round in 2014, alongside CapHorn Invest and Ventech.
