AeroScout, a US-based real-time location technology developer formerly known as Bluesoft, has raised $16m from a consortium including two corporate venturing units.
Computer server company Cisco and semiconductor maker Intel reinvested in AeroScout, which has raised an estimated $60m including the latest round of funding.
Venture capital firm Evergreen Venture Partners led the round as a new investor, along with peers in the consortium Greylock Partners, Menlo Ventures, Pitango Venture Capital and Star Ventures.
AeroScout raised $21m in its series C round in March 2007 and an undisclosed amount from Cisco in 2005, while news provider VentureWire said it had raised $19m before 2005.
AeroScout has more than 600 customers using its radio frequency identifaction tags to keep track of products and people.
