InMotion Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, has partnered accelerator Techstars to support its US-based Techstars Mobility initiative.
Launched in 2015, Techstars Mobility invests in startups developing mobility-related technologies focusing on autonomous driving, connected cars, shared mobility and electric vehicle technology.
InMotion will provide Techstars Mobility with mentors and input on the applicant shortlist, and will selectively make investments in graduating startups.
Sebastian Peck, InMotion’s managing director; James Nettleton, head of its seed investment program; and George Burgess, venture partner at the unit, will offer mentorships through the scheme.
InMotion invests from seed to series-B stage, and its incubator works with up to 10 early-stage startups every year. It also works alongside the broader Jaguar Land Rover group on new product development.
The alliance builds on InMotion and Techstars’ existing relationship, with InMotion having invested in Techstars Mobility graduates GoKid and SPLT earlier this year.
