Carena caches another $6m

Carena, a US-based on-demand healthcare services provider backed by corporates Cambia Health Solutions, Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and McKesson, has secured $6m in new funding from undisclosed investors, Geekwire reported on Sunday.

Founded in 2000, Carena provides telemedicine technology and services for healthcare providers, enabling patients to interact with nurses or physicians from their own homes. It works with more than 120 hospitals across the US.

The company had previously raised $31m in equity financing, according to press releases and securities filings.

Care provider CHI led its $14m series A round in 2012 before returning for a $13.3m series B three years later that included McKesson Ventures, healthcare services provider McKesson’s coprorage venturing unit, as well as care provider Cambia Health Solutions and Martin Ventures.
