Pendo, the US-based developer of a customer interaction analysis platform, has secured $25m in a series C round featuring Salesforce Ventures, the corporate venturing unit owned by enterprise software producer Salesforce.
Venture capital firm Meritech Capital Partners led the round, which included Battery Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, Core Capital Partners, IdeaFund Partners and Spark Capital.
Founded in 2013, Pendo has created a tool that tracks all user activity in a client’s app, giving them information on how long users spend in the app and which features they use, as well as on user trends.
North Carolina-headquartered Pendo will use the funding to expand its engineering team and make strategic investments to support growth as it prepares to open offices in New York and San Francisco.
The round took the company’s overall funding to $45m, it said. Salesforce Ventures also took part in its $20m series B round in December 2016, which was led by Spark Capital and backed by Battery Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, Core Capital Partners and IdeaFund Partners.
Rob Ward, general partner at Meritech Capital Partners, will join Pendo’s board of directors in conjunction with the series C round.
