US-based fashion e-commerce platform Vida has raised $5.5m in seed funding from investors including entertainment provider Universal Music Group and GV, a subsidiary of internet technology conglomerate Alphabet, TechCrunch has reported.
Other participants in the seed round, which reached a $1.3m first close in 2014, include Azure Capital, Slow Ventures, Valley Fund, Nanon, Beehive Holdings, Slow Ventures and angel investor Jesse Draper.
Vida runs an online platform that manufactures and sells clothing using designs sourced from socially responsible artists and designers. It is one of the startups that make up accelerator Y Combinator’s latest batch.
