Motorola calls into 4Home

US-based phone maker Motorola’s Mobility subsidiary has agreed to acquire 4Home, a local developer of connection services between people and their domestic products, less than a year after the target agreed its series B round from phone operator Verizon Communications.

Motorola Mobility, which is expected to separate from the enterprise division of the company next year, did not disclose the purchase price for 4Home.

Verizon Ventures, the corporate venturing division of Verizon, was the strategic investor in 4Home in September after it had closed its $6.8m series B round in the first three months of the year. 4Home’s venture capital investors in the B round were Pond Venture Partners and Parker Price Venture Capital.

Mobile network company 4Home has also been working with Verizon’s LTE Innovation Centre and showed applications running over the fourth generation mobile phone network at the Consumer Electronic Show in January.
