Marek Rubasinski, director of UK-based media company Sky’s startup investments and partnerships team, is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
Rubasinski had held the position since August 2015 and was in charge of Sky’s engagement with technology startups, chiefly through its corporate venture capital unit, Sky Ventures. He joined Sky in 2008 from professional services firm Accenture.
Prior to taking his latest role, Rubasinski was Sky’s director of business development, managing its over-the-top video partnerships with third-party streaming platforms such as Xbox, PlayStation and Apple TV.
Rubasinski’s departure was disclosed by Emma Lloyd, group director of business development and investments for Sky, who revealed that James McClurg will henceforth lead its corporate venturing team.
McClurg is currently head of investments and has been part of Sky’s corporate venturing team since 2013 when he joined the company from a UK-based VC fund.
