US-based cybersecurity software developer ThreatQuotient closed a $30m series C round on Monday featuring mobile network operator NTT Docomo and networking equipment maker Cisco.
Investment firm Adams Street Partners led the round, which also featured New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Silicon Valley Bank, while NTT Docomo and Cisco participated through their NTT Docomo Ventures and Cisco Investments units respectively.
ThreatQuotient has developed a software platform called ThreatQ that aggregates, organises and analyses threat intelligence data. The funding will be used to accelerate product development and expand its sales and marketing operation in the US and internationally.
The company secured $12m in a series B round led by NEA in August 2016 with contributions from Blu Venture Investors and the Virginia-based Centre for Innovative Technology (CIT).
The same three investors had also provided the funding for ThreatQuotient’s $10.2m series A round in December 2015, which came after Blu Venture Investors and CIT had co-led its $1.5m seed round in 2013.
John Czupak, CEO of ThreatQuotient said: “Our industry is at a crossroads and organisations must shift beyond simple detection and response to a position of understanding and anticipating threats through intelligence-driven security.
“We are thrilled to have the support of our investors and strategic partners including Cisco and NTT Group, who are enabling us to continue bringing cutting-edge threat intelligence solutions to organisations around the globe and accelerate our mission to never stop innovating.”
