China-based property services startup Uhouzz Network Technology has received $14m in a series B round featuring private educational services provider New Oriental Education Group, Asian Venture Capital Journal reported today.
The round was led by TransLink Capital, a US-based venture capital firm that leverages its relationships with more than 20 corporates in Greater China, Japan and South Korea, which are also among its limited partners, to help portfolio companies expand in Asia.
Founded in 2015, Uhouzz runs an online platform that provides accommodation information for students studying abroad, and also sells travel tickets and offers property rental services and transportation from airports in destination countries.
The company’s app has more than 600,000 registered users and it claims to have been responsible for more than $37m in student property rental transactions.
New Oriental Education had previously participated in Uhouzz’s $7m pre-series A round alongside pump manufacturer Leo Group and travel agency UTour.
Uhouzz subsequently raised $7.5m in a July 2016 series A round led by VC firm Tianjin Venture Capital that included Leo Group, and which valued the company at approximately $49m according to 36kr.
