Red Star Mascalline homes in on 3vjia

China-based furniture and interior design modelling and e-commerce platform 3vjia has raised RMB300m ($47.7m) in a series B round led by home furnishing retailer Red Star Macalline, China Money Network reported yesterday.

Founded in 2012, 3vijia operates an online platform that allows users to create a 3D model of rooms in their home to see how they would look with particular furniture included. It also runs physical outlets where customised items can be bought.

Customers can use the platform to buy and customise furniture and can supervise the process from end to end, including payment, production, delivery and installation.

Cai Zhisen, 3vijia’s CEO, was quoted by China Money Network as saying: “The Chinese house furnishing market has huge potential, especially after the boom in the real estate market.

“As household consumption further upgrades, customised furnishing and decoration solutions have become mainstream.”

The company has not disclosed firm details concerning its past funding but its earlier investors include Softbank China, a subsidiary of Japan-based telecommunications and internet group SoftBank, and brokerage GF Securities, according to China Money Network.
