Ireland-based e-commerce data science company Sales Optimize scooped first prize and £100,000 ($135,000) at the Salesforce Ventures’ DreamPitch event in London last week. Sales Optimize maps e-commerce websites on the internet to create sales leads for suppliers to e-commerce businesses.
Three companies presented to a large audience and a panel of three judges: Jacqueline de Rojas, president of TechUK, Dale Murray, co-founder of Omega Logic and James Caan, entrepreneur, investor and judge on the BBC pitch show Dragons’ Den.
DreamPitch took place as part of Salesforce’s annual ‘World Tour’ conference, this year named ‘Trailblazer,’ which attracted around 12,000 visitors.
Salesforce Ventures looks to invest in companies that develop products around the Salesforce enterprise cloud platform. It has funded over 275 businesses since it was founded in 2009 and currently has 25 portfolio companies in the Europe/Middle East region.
Talking about strategy, Alex Kayyal, head of Salesforce Ventures in Europe said: “It is all about creating the ecosystem and helping customers succeed.”
At World Tour, Salesforce announced that it will be bringing its four-month Salesforce Accelerate program to London this year.
Salesforce Accelerate is designed to provide the insights, learning and support that startups need to strategically align with Salesforce and accelerate their time-to-market with the related AppExchange store. The first cohort will have a focus on fintech and insurtech.
