US-based software developer Phreesia has raised $30m in a series E round backed by Ascension Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of hospital management company Ascension Health.
The round was led by private equity firm LLR Partners, with participation from venture capital firm HLM Venture Partners. The funds will support the company’s growth, product development and expansion plans across the US.
Phreesia produces tablet software is used in waiting rooms for patients to check in, sign consent forms and provide payments to their healthcare providers.
Chaim Indig, chief executive of Phreesia, said: “This investment will help Phreesia continue to develop new services that deliver additional value to our customers and their patients”.
This latest round brings the total raised by Phreesia to $74.8m since being founded in 2005.
Phreesia raised $20m in a series D round in 2010 from Ascension Ventures, BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners, a corporate venture fund that represents a national federation of independent BlueCross BlueShield health insurance organisations, VantagePoint Venture Partners, HLM, Long River Ventures and Polaris Venture Partners.
