McAfee, a US-based anti-virus software subsidiary of chipmaker Intel, has agreed to acquire local peer Sentrigo for an undisclosed amount.
McAfee has partnered with Sentrigo through its Security Innovation Alliance programme and last year entered into an original equipment manufacturing relationship with Sentrigo
In December, Sentrigo, a US-based provider of data security products formerly known as Monolith Security, had raised $6m in its series C round from a consortium including from equipment maker Juniper Network’s corporate venturing fund.
As a new investor, Juniper’s Junos Innovation Fund has joined venture capital firms Benchmark Capital and Stata Venture Partners in the C round.
Benchmark had provided $3.5m to Sentrigo for its series A round in May 2007, two years after its launch.
