Singapore-based digital media company Splice has formed a $1m venture capital fund in partnership with blockchain-based journalism organisation Civil that is intended to help launch media startups across Asia.
The fund, Splice 100, will be managed by Splice is intended to be the catalyst for the launch of 100 startups in three years by making micro-investments at the pre-seed stage.
Splice did not offer additional details on its plans for Splice 100, saying only that it had a broad definition of the media equation and would provide information on how it planned to assess startups over the next few weeks.
