Bunchball, a US on-line company backed by the corporate venturing unit of information technology company Adobe, has raised $6.5m.
Adobe Ventures-backed Bunchball raised the money from venture capital firms Triangle Peak Partners, Northport Investments, Correlation Ventures and previous investor Granite Ventures. It is unclear if Adobe committed to the latest round.
Bunchball, founded in 2005, uses techniques employed in software games to enhance websites and mobile applications in an effort to increase user loyalty and revenue. It has previously raised $2m in a Series A round in 2006 and $4m in a Series B round in 2008, according to reports, and has now raised at least $12.5m in total.
Last year Adobe Ventures was part of a syndicate which sold voice response company TuVox for an undisclosed sum.
