Pearson Education, a unit of the eponymous publishing company, has reportedly helped Inkling Systems, a US-based iPad textbook company, raise $17m.
Pearson was joined in the series B round by venture firms Tenaya Capital, which led the funding, Jafco Ventures and Sequoia Capital, according to news provider All Things Digital.
Inkling’s best selling item was medical textbooks, All Things Digital said.
In March, Inkling said it had raised undisclosed funds from Pearson and McGraw-Hill, a US-based publisher.
Last August, a year after launch, Inkling raised its series A round from venture capital firms Sequoia Capital, Kapor Capital, Felicis Ventures and Sherpalo Ventures participated in the funding round. Terms were undisclosed.
